Are you a seasoned engineer in Latin America looking to disrupt one of the world’s oldest industries? Counterpart is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our mission-driven team on a contract basis.
We aren’t just an insurance company; we are an insurtech platform reimagining how businesses lead with clarity and confidence. Through our Agentic Insurance™ system—where AI meets deep insurance expertise—we help small businesses grow while minimizing risk.
The Mission: Shaping a Smarter Future
At Counterpart, our engineers are prolific contributors. You won’t just be “fixing bugs”; you will be bridging the gap between Product, Insurance, and Data. You will help set the culture, rituals, and processes of a high-functioning remote engineering organization.
What’s on the Roadmap?
As part of the team, you’ll dive into high-impact projects such as:
- Workflow Modernization: Enhancing our Django system to automate Risk Engineering workflows.
- AI Integration: Collaborating with Data teams to leverage AI via a React frontend, turning complex documents into structured, actionable data.
- HR Tech Evolution: Scaling our HR application to support its next phase of rapid growth.
- Emerging Services: Architecting new systems for our Claims team to handle complex lines of insurance.
The Tech Stack & Your Toolkit
We are looking for a builder who loves experimentation and possesses a “passion for programming.”
Must-Haves:
- Experience: 5+ years of experience with Python.
- Backend: 2+ years of deep experience with Django.
- Frontend: 2+ years of experience with TypeScript.
- Data: 2+ years working with Relational Databases.
- Soft Skills: Effective communication and a track record of success in remote-first environments.
- Location: You must be based in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, or the Dominican Republic.
Bonus Points: If you have experience developing custom solutions or integrations within Salesforce, we want to hear about it!

💡 Guided Advice for Applicants
1. Highlight Your “Product” Mindset
Counterpart isn’t looking for code monkeys. In your application, explain how your code solved a business problem. Mention how you’ve collaborated with non-technical teams (like Sales or Claims) in the past.
2. Focus on Django & TypeScript Synergy
Since our stack relies heavily on these two, highlight projects where you’ve managed the data flow between a Django backend and a modern TypeScript frontend (specifically React).
3. Culture Check: Mention the Values
Review our values like Omotenashi or Holding Nothing Sacred. If you can reference a time you adapted a routine or went above and beyond for a colleague, you’ll stand out.
4. Application Logistics
Ensure your resume is in English and provided in PDF or Word format. Please confirm your location in the application to ensure you fall within our hiring regions (LatAm focus).
Counterpart is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate differences and believe that being open about who we are allows us to do the best work of our lives.
